Exploring My New Collection of Artwork: Bowe's Bovines.
As a New Zealand artist specialising in colour pencil art, I'm excited to announce the release of part one of my new collection: “Bowe’s Bovines.” I know many of you have been patiently waiting for me to create more cow-themed artwork, so I’m thrilled to share these pieces with you. I’d also like to share the inspiration behind these latest artworks.
My Rural Roots
Growing up on a beef farm in a little place called Te Pahu, farm animals were a significant part of my upbringing, and I've lived in small rural towns ever since. My country upbringing has likely help shape who I am as an artist. The beauty and simplicity of nature and animals has always inspired my work, and still continues to be a strong theme.
Introducing "Bowe's Bovines"
“Bowe’s Bovines” is a series that I have dreamed of creating for many years. However, it never felt like the right time until now. With the growth of my artistic skills and confidence, I finally feel ready to bring this vision to life. Each piece in this collection reflects not only my technical abilities but also my deep appreciation for these magnificent creatures.
I am proud to say that I believe these three artworks are among the best I have ever created. They represent years of drawing practice and capture the essence of rural life while celebrating the beauty of nature. ❤
Introducing Lola, the quintessential Holstein Friesian dairy cow. A good-natured gal with her lovable and calm demeanour, she perfectly encapsulates rural farm life. You can view this artwork here.
Then we have Ùna, the enchanting Highland cow who embodies the spirit of the Scottish Highlands. With her flowing golden locks that dance in the breeze, she radiates an irresistible country charm. You can view this artwork here.
And meet Brute, the Hereford bull, also known as Brutus. He exudes masculine charm with his deep, stoic gaze. A magnificent and regal beast, he commands attention in any pasture! You can view this artwork here.
So there you have it, a quick introduction to these three beautiful creatures. I hope you'll appreciate them as much as I enjoyed creating them. I have a Part 02 planned for this art series which I hope to release March/April 2025. So if there's particular breed of cow that you would like to see included in this art series, let me know.
Many of you have expressed interest in prints of these pieces, so I've made them available alongside the original drawings. Be sure to go check out all the cow originals and art prints here.
