After a cold winter comes a bountiful spring, filled with beauty and colour.
This artwork features a pair of native waxeyes/silvereyes resting in a flax woven box, filled with spring flowers from the kowhai, kakabeak and pink cherry trees - all of which bloom in early spring. The twist pounamu pendant is said to represent the joining of cultures and the bond between two people in love or friendship. A monarch butterfly rests on a cherry blossom, the butterfly being a mark of spring and new life, also a symbol of renewal and regeneration
